Dit is wat onze vriend Joohoost te melden heeft na de race:

Wichman and his Cannondale win again!
Last weekend Joost did an invitational race in Poland.
After a 900km drive, with a lot of bumpy roads, Jurg "party tiger" Meyer, Jowi Veghel, Bami, Jelle and Joost arrived in the beautiful town of Szczawno Zdroj.
The Polish organisers did a great job. Nice track, great athmosphere and a lot of spectators.
Saturday afternoon qualifications runs were on. Joost had a solid run, just made one big mistake on the new built rhythm section, but still ended up 2nd behind World Champion Lopes. Jurg Meyer and Tatarkovic came in 3rd and 4th. Although the track was long, almost 47 seconds with a lot of pedaling, the top 3 guys were all within a second.
At 9 PM the finales started. It was clear that the first straight was going to be the decision-maker on this track. If you made it as first over the 4 pack of doubles into the left-hander you had a good changes of winning the race.
Joost had no trouble in qualifying for the main finale. In the finale he was on the gate with Lopes, Meyer and the suprise of the day Jowi van Veghel. Van Veghel overtook Tatartkovic in the semi finales. Keep an eye on this kid he has got some skills!
When the gate dropped, Lopes, Meyer and Wichman were elbowing it out over the first straight. Wichman took the lead into the first left-hander, leaving Lopes and Meyer behind. Joost took a 10 meter lead but made the same mistake as in his qualifying run, he did not catch any rhythm on the rhythm section... so this gave Lopes the chance to catch up again, but Joost could keep him off and brought it home.
results:
1st - Joost Wichman (Cannondale Factory Racing)
2nd - Brian Lopes (Ibis)
3rd - Jurg Meyer (R.S.P. Giant)
4th - Jowi van Veghel (Meybo bikes)
5th - Kamill Tatarkovic (Suzuki RB)
We would like to thanks the Polish organizers for their great hospitality and inviting us to the race
